ATA PTX-5v2 TrioCode 128 replacement remote for GDO openers

ATA openers covered by the PTX-5v2 transmitter

This aftermarket PTX-5v2 works with ATA GDO 6, GDO 7, GDO 8, GDO 9 and GDO 11 openers, and more broadly with any ATA motor that uses this remote or runs on the TrioCode 128 platform. One handset can be set up to control up to four different doors, which suits properties with a double garage plus a gate, or anyone managing doors at more than one address. Owners of earlier TrioCode equipment should note the version difference: the ATA PTX5v1 Garage Door Remote TrioCode GDO serves GDO 11v1, 6v3 and 6v4 openers, so matching the v1 or v2 generation to your motor is the key step.

Design details that make this remote easy to live with

The housing measures 6cm x 2.2cm x 1cm, slim enough to disappear into a pocket or sit on a key ring without bulk. A sliding cover protects the buttons from accidental presses in a handbag or pocket, and an LED indicator confirms each transmission at a glance. The controller board in this release has been upgraded, giving increased operating distance and better stability than earlier builds. A battery comes pre-supplied along with a key ring, and pairing instructions are available as a downloadable manual, so getting the first door coded takes only a few minutes.

Where this fits among ATA remote generations

ATA has shipped several transmitter families over the years, and buying the wrong one is the most common mistake with this brand. SecuraCode is the older rolling platform, served by the ATA PTX-4 Securacode Garage Door Remote Control, while TrioCode and TrioCode 128 are the later systems. If you are replacing a lost original and are unsure of the generation, check the model printed on your opener's head unit before choosing. There is also the ATA PTX-5V2 Garage Door Remote TrioCode 128 if you prefer a second unit of this same v2 specification, handy for keeping one handset per vehicle rather than passing a single remote between drivers.

Why The Remote Factory is a sensible place to order

Garage remotes are a core line for The Remote Factory, an Australian-based business specialising in replacement remotes and key fobs rather than treating them as a sideline. The PTX-5v2 ships like everything else in the range: dispatched within 24 hours, then 1–5 working days in transit for standard Australian delivery or 2–8 working days for New Zealand. A 30-day return policy backs the purchase, and questions about TrioCode compatibility can go to contact@theremotefactory.com.au before you order. At checkout you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Shop Pay or Apple Pay.

Frequently asked questions

Which ATA garage door openers does the PTX-5v2 suit?

It is compatible with ATA GDO 6, GDO 7, GDO 8, GDO 9 and GDO 11 openers, and with ATA motors that use the TrioCode 128 system or already operate with this style of remote. If your opener is an older unit running GDO 11v1, 6v3 or 6v4, the PTX5v1 version is the correct choice instead, so check the model on your motor's head unit first.

Can one PTX-5v2 remote control more than one door?

Yes. The PTX-5v2 can be programmed to control up to four different doors from the one handset. That makes it practical for homes with multiple garage doors or a gate on the same property, and for anyone who looks after doors at more than one location. Each door is paired separately by following the pairing instructions in the downloadable manual.

Is a battery included with this ATA remote?

Yes, the remote arrives with a battery already supplied, along with a key ring. The sliding cover design keeps the buttons from being pressed accidentally in a pocket, and the LED indicator lets you confirm the remote is transmitting when you test it. Once the battery is in place, you can pair it with your opener straight away using the manual.

What happens if the remote does not pair with my opener?

The Remote Factory offers a 30-day return policy, so an incompatible remote can be sent back. Before that, it is worth emailing contact@theremotefactory.com.au, since pairing issues are often resolved by checking the opener model and following the TrioCode steps in the manual. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours, with Australian standard delivery typically arriving in 1–5 working days.
