Tavice 4K action cam: waterproof sports camera with WiFi and 170-degree lens
Built for water, dust and the back of a bike
The headline feature here is the included waterproof housing, rated to protect the camera down to 30 metres – deep enough for snorkelling, surf sessions and most recreational diving. Out of the water, the lightweight body mounts easily to bikes, helmets and dashboards, and a built-in LED flashlight adds a practical touch for dark sheds, caves and pre-dawn starts. A 2.0-inch IPS HD screen on the back lets you frame shots and review clips on the spot instead of guessing until you reach a laptop. The housing also helps keep sand, dust and mud away from the lens and ports on beach days and trail rides, which extends the life of the camera considerably.
Recording modes that cover more than sport
Video tops out at 4K Ultra HD with 1080P Full HD available, shot through a 170-degree ultra-wide lens that captures the whole scene rather than a letterboxed slice. Anti-shake technology smooths out handlebar vibration, and WiFi connectivity handles wireless control and sharing from your phone. Beyond the sports basics there is loop recording and a car mode for dash duty, plus motion detection, face tracking and NightShot Plus for low-light work – a genuinely versatile list for a camera under sixty dollars. Motion detection makes it useful as a makeshift security camera at a campsite or in a shed, while face tracking helps keep people in frame during family events. Loop recording means the card never fills and stops mid-ride, which is handy for long cycling sessions.
Where it fits among the other Tavice cameras
Each camera in this range has a lane. For permanent in-car recording with remote monitoring, the TAVICE 4K dash cam 6-lens 4G car camera is the purpose-built choice. For aerial footage, the Tavice S1S Max foldable FPV drone with 6K camera takes over where a chest mount cannot go. And for unobtrusive recording around the house or workplace, the mini 1080P HD WiFi spy camera does the quiet observational work this action cam is too conspicuous for. Owning two of these cameras lets you capture different angles of the same activity, such as a bike-mounted view and a chest-mounted view on one ride. Rinsing the housing in fresh water after saltwater use helps keep its seals in good shape.

Frequently asked questions
How deep can this action camera go underwater?
With the included waterproof housing fitted, the camera is protected to a depth of 30 metres. That covers swimming, snorkelling, surfing and most recreational dives. The housing is the key – the camera body itself should always be inside it for water use. Buttons remain operable through the case, so you can start and stop recording during a session.
Can I control the action cam from my phone?
Yes. The camera has WiFi connectivity for wireless control and sharing, letting you use your phone to frame shots, trigger recording and transfer footage. The 2.0-inch IPS screen on the camera itself also allows direct framing and playback, so you can work either way. That flexibility is handy when the camera is mounted somewhere awkward like a helmet or bumper.
Does it work as a dash cam in the car?
It includes a dedicated car mode alongside loop recording, which continuously overwrites the oldest files so the card never fills mid-drive. That makes it a workable occasional dash cam, though it lacks the multi-lens coverage and 4G remote access of a purpose-built unit. Motion detection and NightShot Plus extend its usefulness for parked or low-light recording sessions.
What resolutions and field of view does it record?
The camera records 4K Ultra HD as well as 1080P Full HD, through a 170-degree ultra-wide-angle lens that captures a broad scene – ideal for point-of-view sport footage. Anti-shake technology helps smooth vibration from bikes and vehicles, and face tracking is available for people-focused shots. Footage can be reviewed immediately on the built-in IPS screen.
